• Eset Smart Security not only helps protect you from all forms of malware, but also provides you with firewall protection and a spam filter.
• Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware helps remove some common computer infections which typically get passed most other internet security protection. I recommend its use only as a supplment to Eset.
• ComboFix helps remove some common computer infections which typically get passed most other internet security protection. I recommend its use only as a supplment to Eset.

Power Surge / Spike Protection

• Thor Technologies is the only manufacturer of power surge protection, that I have found so far, that meets the three selection criteria for sufficient power surge / spike protection.

Backup & Restore

• Acronis to backup important files, or an image of your entire computer, onto many different types of media.
• Cobian Backup is a free open source program to backup important files to an external hard drive or an ftp location.
